How to Foster

Fostering an animal saves a life. if you would like to help us by opening your home to a foster, fill out our foster application that is below! Foster care consists of providing a safe, loving, temporary home for an animal until a forever home can be found! We can only rescue as many animals as we have fosters! 

Foster Home responsibilities:

*Provide a temporary home

*Be patient. Understand that all of these animals are rescues and their behavior can be unpredictable. Be prepared for some adjustment in the beginning. 

*Be willing to foster the animal from rescue until adoption. The amount of time needed to find an animal a permanent home can vary. 

*Provide a safe indoor place for the animal to be while you are gone. Little Rays of Sunshine Animal Rescue highly recommends crate training for dogs to keep both dog and your home safe. We will provide a crate if needed. 

*Foster homes sign a Foster Agreement and agree to abide by Little Rays of Sunshine Animal Rescue policies.

*Keep the Rescue informed about your foster animals quirks, behaviors, etc. Your input is very important to potential adopters!

*Last but not least Treat them as one of your own!
